My Autobiography is as true and complete (and sometimes as embarrassing) as my memory allows. We traveled west in a Model "T" Ford car in 1937. We camped beside the road with other migrants, my folks "chopped" cotton in the spring, and then picked it that fall. For two years we lived in the Pecos River Valley, most of the time in a canvas tent.
The two LIBERTY books were wrote with material, and financial help, furnished by my friend and co-writer, and historian, Robert Bounds.
They deal with the early history of the Norfork, Arkansas, area. In them are copies of love letters wrote to "Mollie" the youngest daughter of the old settler, Major Jacob Wolf, at the Wolf home in Norfork. The writer of the letters was a young Physician, Dr. J. M. Casey, from this area. Most of his letters were wrote from Civil War camps, but one letter was wrote from the Casey house in Mountain Home. Both the Wolf House and the Casey House are still standing.
I have #3 & #4 scheduled for some time this year. They will be wrote and compiled from material furnished by Bob Bounds and myself.
My books are available for $25 each at the museum in Gassville, AR, or you can get them by contacting me at emmitdacklin@centurytel.net.
The Last Guardian is dead and the universe is about to end. Can Sunny Burroughs, a nitwit and a klutz, step in to save the day? Of course not—the lovable buffoon can’t walk across a room without falling on his face. But when he is sucked into the quest to rescue a worthless, half-naked princess, he becomes the last best hope for mankind! Even with his uncle helping him, it is anybody’s guess whether he’ll save the girl or actually hasten the end of everything.
In cliff-hanger near-misses and catastrophic attempts, Sunny fumbles his way from planet to planet hoping to save the princess without even knowing the universe is at risk. He is opposed by a diabolical foe he cannot possibly defeat. Along the way, Sunny faces the greatest foe of all, himself, and stands up to his fears and inadequacies. Will the universe be destroyed? Probably—if it is left up to Sunny to save it, but perhaps there is another way.
